Throwback Thursday – A Look Back At The Biggest Celebrity Scandals

Chumlee

While a majority stars saw great success on screen and off in 2016, the year wasn’t always kin to some of them. The year started off strong, scandal-wise, with Austin Russell, aka Chumlee, being arrested in March after police who searched his house for a sexual assault investigation found a sizable amount of meth, marijuana and a gun. He was let off with a three year probation and counseling deal after pleading guilty. Taylor Swift was he next to come under fire as her breakup and feud with rapper Kanye West put her in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons, leaving fans undecided whether the singer was secretly a mean girl.

Ryan-Lochte

Swimmer Ryan Lochte’s also faced major incarceration in the form of a swimming ban till June 2017 and the loss of his sponsorships after he lied about being robbed by gunmen in Brazil for a little time in the spotlight. However, the swimmer is marrying his Play Boy girlfriend, so it can’t all be bad for him. Model Gigi Hadid also faced a ton of backlash after she made fun of Melania Trump’s speech during the American Music Awards. Hadid did a fairly presentable mimicry of Melania’s RNC speech that was a copy of Michelle Obama’s speech, though she said it was all in good humor.

Actors also seem to have had it hard this year. In May, Johnny Depp’s ex Amber Heard accused him of domestic abuse. Fans quickly gave the actor quite a lashing but Depp’s exes came to save his character and the couple divorced in August. In a similar story, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt announced their separation ways. Rumor mills spun out of control as FBI investigated Pitt on abuse charges against Maddox, their oldest son, which were then dropped. Kanye and Kim face some turmoil after thieves made off with Kim’s jewelry, which was worth millions. The reality star retreated from social media, though she ran to the rescue when husband Kanye West was hospitalized for suffering a psychotic breakdown.
