Tested Recipes for Shiny Windows
So, if you believe that natural ingredients are the right choice – get to work because no one will do it for you.
Water with Vinegar
The most common way to wash your windows is the mixture of water and vinegar. The ratio should be 150 ml apple vinegar and 3 liters of water. Mix them in a bucket or bowl, then you can fill a bottle with sprayer, or use a sponge to apply and scrub the windows. If you have a rubber for windows – use it to remove any excess of water and detergent, and then dry with a dry cloth or paper. You can replace the vinegar with lemon juice if that’s how you prefer it.
Water with Iodine
Efficient way to clean dirty windows is to wash them with water in which iodine is dissolved – for example, make a solution of 2 liters water and about 50 ml iodine. Spots that detergents fail to remove are no obstacle for the iodine.
Water with Ammonia
Mix the water with the liquid ammonia and some kind of strong alcohol. The ratio should be about a liter of water mixed with a coffee-cupful of both products. Clean with the mixture and then polish the windows with kitchen towel. Tested and really effective method.
Little Secrets for Success
If you use soap or a kind of washing liquid to wash the windows, do not overdo with the amount of the detergent. If it is more than necessary, washing will take more time and the final result will be blurred windows.
Try to wash windows when the sun does not shine on them directly. When the surface is heated, the time for reaction is less – you spray the cleaner and try to rub with a cloth, but the surface dries too quickly and finally the result is deplorable.
If on the windows there is old accumulation of dirt or other detergents, wash them with warm soapy water first. Then, it will be much easier for you to make them shine. Never use a circular motion to clean. Move the brush or sponge from top to bottom or from left to right.
